Wise conducted training and organised a team for the Oxford University Press (OUP) National Mooting Competition. Unable to pursue inter-university debating due to COVID-19, he competed in weekly internal virtual debates. He also took part in two casual rugby sessions and is planning to do more next year. He has subscriptions to the Financial Times and to Law.com to boost his commercial awareness.

Wise wrote blogs as International Student Ambassador and completed a successful Beacon outreach programme in Uganda. He obtained a coveted student fellowship at the Surrey Centre for Law and Philosophy, a Uni-run legal think tank; and joined student-run political risk advisory group London Politica, networking with like-minded students worldwide.

For his Beacon Citizenship Project Wise co-founded CareerXP which is a career guidance organisation for Ugandan school-leavers. This year, CareerXP has partnered with a dynamic startup in Uganda to improve efficiency, as well as signing up some partner companies. Wise also worked on a London Politica project about Russian policy in Central African Republic.

Beacon Workshop Participation

Wise's 2021 Summer Beacon Citizenship Project was about CareerXP, a joint project with Godwill Alendro, also a Beacon Scholar from Uganda.

In Leadership Workshops, he has become increasingly succinct and takes criticism positively. Wise provides good support as a team leader and answers questions clearly.
