Wise Musinguzi

Wise Musinguzi Large19 years old, attending the University of Surrey, UK. Wise was awarded a Beacon Scholarship in June 2019. 

Wise is studying towards an LLB in Law at the University of Surrey. Wise is from Uganda and achieved UACE (Ugandan A-Level) grades ABB (Economics, Literature, History). 

Wise attended King’s College, Budo and was Secretary for Inter School Affairs on the Student School Council. A distinguished debater, he represented the School in various competitive debates: National Debate Championship 2017; African Debate Championship 2017; and Harvard World Schools Debate Championships 2018 (raising funds to support travel to Harvard). 

Wise has used his oratory gift in various school clubs to tackle affairs concerning the school community, and regularly spoke at School Assembly on challenges being faced by students. He is the youngest ever member of the Lion’s club of Mbarara Central, a humanitarian organisation carrying out a wide range of activities including child immunisation, diabetes screening and eye check-ups in rural suburbs as well as food and book donations to schools and orphanages in SW Uganda. Wise is also part of a student-founded charity called “Tomorrow’s African Child” partnered with an orphanage in Kampala.

Wise’s father works in the Ugandan Revenue Authority, and his mother is a housewife.

Beacon Workshop Participation

WiseAs a new Beacon Scholar, Wise was invited to speak about a service activity at the Beacon Leadership Symposium 2019. He talked about his involvement as an active member of the Lion's Club of Mbarara, and a student-founded charity he runs with former school friends called The Tomorrow's African Child (TTAC).
