Attending University of Toronto, Canada, studying Physics and Astrophysics. Nyawira was awarded a Beacon Scholarship in May 2016, and was a Beacon Scholar at secondary school for 5 years.

Nyawira is studying Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Music for A Level. She has adjusted to her new school and the regime for studying for A Levels, and gained an A for Music and Maths in her AS-levels.

She is very musical and has performed in two music festivals for choir and orchestra as well as interhouse choir (by video during the pandemic), drama and dance competitions. Nyawira also raced with the school 4 x 4 relay team and joined the hockey B team. Both her school and house teams won debates. 

Nyawira campaigned for and successfully gained the positions of Prefect and School Councillor at her new school. She became Chair of the Community Services Committee, where she set up fundraisers and found donors; had to mediate between differing viewpoints; and had to convince her peers to participate and to think about the importance of giving back.

She is passionate about recycling plastic and has increased awareness of the issue at Peponi, advocating the importance of taking action, not just talking about issues, in order to be a real changemaker. She also joined the Charity Committee as school magazine journalist, and attended the EAMUN conference under the committee special summit.
