Attended UWC East Africa, Moshi, Tanzania until June 2024. Karigo was awarded a Beacon Scholarship in June 2020.

After graduation from UWCEA, Karigo is continuing his studies at Earlham College.

During his time at UWCEA, Karigo created a club to teach students about the MUN and, with help of his peers, shared their knowledge with younger students. He played for the U19 basketball team in various competitions and organised movie nights for boarders. He worked with younger children in U13 and U15 basketball and also trained the girls' basketball team.

Karigo is influential with his peers, planning activities such as sports weekends and acting as an ambassador. He supports younger students with their studies and has been involved with a Legacy Project focusing on aspects of identity.

Karigo has varied Citizenship interests and has been involved with a ‘Cultural Café’ project. He gets involved with community clean-up groups and is a passionate ambassador for women and girls experiencing domestic violence.

Beacon Workshop Participation

Karigo's 2023 Summer Beacon Citizenship Project was Kupaza Sauti za Wasichana na Wanawake (Strengthening and Sharing the Voices of Women and Girls) - focusing on the problems women face and how change may be implemented.
