Jason Kahugu

Jason Kahugu Large 13 years old, attending Peponi School, Nairobi, Kenya. Jason was awarded a Beacon Scholarship in May 2024.

Jason previously attended Cavina School, Nairobi where he achieved consistently well across the curriculum, with his effort graded as excellent. He has particular strengths in mathematics and science.

Jason enjoys a wide range of co-curricular activities and sport, including cricket, hockey, rugby, football and athletics. At Cavina, he played the saxophone in the school orchestra and also performed with the school in musical ensembles.

Jason’s leadership roles have included Head Boy, House Captain and Prefect. He has organised and led weekly assemblies and is an excellent role model, leading his peers by example.

Jason is active in a range of citizenship initiatives, including the Faraja campaigns for childhood cancer, where he has helped organise sponsored walks with his family, visiting Nyumbani Children's Home, and championing the safe disposal of electrical waste.
